10/12/10 - Not Goodbye, See You Later
There were no cameras today, only our memories and thoughts of Grandma Emma... pictures tomorrow and on...
A darling, a paragon, a warrior, a personal hero… four words we all would love to have describe us. Emma, the woman we’ve known to embody all of those words.
She lived her life for others and found happiness in caring for people. A selfless woman that didn’t use her illness as an excuse, nor let it slow her down. Her action towards life was simple, go.
We’ve been blessed to learn a lot from Emma: family is everything, love is stronger than anything in this world, courage is mighty, and most importantly, impossible is just a word.
She continued to defy all odds until the very end. And she finally was at peace, with the love of her life at her side.
She could smile at you with her eyes and light up a room with her laugh. Her kitchen was off limits if she was in it, she could find deals shopping like no one else, and don’t you dare worry about money.
A small woman, with such a huge will to strive forward. A wife who gave all she had to her husband. A sister who loved with every piece of her heart. A mother who cared until the very last day. A grandmother who treated her grandkids like her own children. And a friend who gave without expecting anything in return.
She made people proud to know her and she made this a world a better place by being with us.
She fought, she loved, she gave… she touched the lives of many and left a lasting impression. Emma defined courage, love, strength, compassion and selflessness. She was and is our angel.
No more pain, Emma. No more hiding your angel wings here on Earth. Be happy that she can do what she wasn’t able to down here: watch over all of us at the same time.
Emma, four letters that are stronger than you or I.

10/11/10 - No Matter What
My Daddy told me that Grandma Idy said that pictures like this of her grandchildren make her so happy, no matter what. So here is a picture of me for you all... smile at least once a day knowing that our loved ones are in a good place... whether here on Earth at this time or up above watching over us.
Heaven better be a huge place, because us Mexicanos have lots and lots of primos, tios, tias, compadres, ninos, ninas... - Lorenzo

10/6/10 - RIP Grandma Emma
You will be missed by A LOT of people. You can now stop hiding your wings, our angel. I am glad that you got to meet Lorenzo and we were lucky enough to be part of your family. Kiss Julie and my Dad for me.
This picture was taken just a week and a half ago for her 80th birthday party. The strongest woman I'll ever know...

10/3/10 - Warrior
Warrior, fighter, angel ... all these describe our Grandma Emma. Send your prayers to her... Here is Lorenzo with her when he was a month old... and a poem I wrote to her for her 80th birthday:
I Never Knew Hard Work, Until I Met You.
I Never Knew Selflessness, Until I Met You.
I Never Knew Love Could Be Expressed Through The Eyes, Until I Met You.
Until I Met You, I Never Knew What Perseverance Was.
Until I Met You, I Never Knew What Strength Was.
Until I Met You, I Never Knew a Woman Could Be Stronger Than a Man.
I Never Knew Angels Were Among Us, Until I Met You.
I Never Knew Security, Until I Met You.
I Never Knew The Meaning of Family, Until I Met You.
It Didn’t Take Very Long For Me to Meet You.
And For That, I Am a Better Person.
For That, I Never Knew What Absence of The Heart Felt Like.
For That, I Thank You.
For That, I Live My Life Dedicated To You.

10/2/10 - In This Spot...
10/1/10 - "Hey Jude"
Don't worry, this isn't a crying face, this is my singing face! I started singing once I was put in my Beatles shirt!
"Hey, Jude, don't make it bad
Take a sad song and make it better
Remember to let her into your heart
Then you can start to make it better"
I can definitely sing better than Daddy. - Lorenzo
